You need an interface to connect your cam to to transfer the audio and video. Some products may come with WinfastPVR which is a great site.
Simply connect the cam to the video and audio inputs with RCA cable and then capture with PVR while playing the tape. Capture as an AVI if you want to edit the footage. If you simply want to get it onto DVDs, encode as MPEG which will easily import into any DVD authoring software.

How do I upload videos from my camcorder to my computer using a video cable?
I have creator 8 easy media suite which is a program and I think i use that to upload it onto the computer. i want to be able to edit the video and post it onto youtube.

You have not provided enough information… so you get ALL options:
If you are using a miniDV or Digital8 tape camcorder, you need a firewire cable to connect the DV port on the camcorder to the firewire 400 port on your computer. If you don’t have one, they are cheap to add. The cables are cheap, too.
If you are using a flash memory or hard drive based camcorder, your computer will see the camcorder and mount it to the desktop like any other USB mass storage device. Copy the video files to your hard drive. You may need to convert the MPEG2 file.
If your camcorder uses miniDVD optical discs, NEVER put a miniDVD in a slot loading optical drive. If your computer has a drawer loading DVD drive, you can rip the video with HandBrake http://handbrake.fr/
If you do not have a drawer loading optical drive, you can get an external DVD drive (I like LaCie), or, using the AV cable that came with the camcorder, you will need to use an “analog/digital bridge” from http://canopus.com/products/videoconvers… if your computer has a firewire port or http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us… if your computer only has USB. Use these bridges for analog camcorders like VHS, VHS-C, Video 8 and Hi8.
I can only watch videos I uploaded in High Quality. I’ve tried directly uploading it from the FlipShare program, iMovie, and exporting the video to my hard drive. Nothing works. Any ideas anyone?
How do you take video footage from a panasonic PV-GS200 camcorder and upload it onto a computer? It only allows still pictures and video recorded onto the SD drive to be uploaded through the usb cord. I want to take footage off of a dvc cassette and upload it onto my computer.
