I know camcorders have software in them, but i need to know if the camcorder is hooked up to my pc via usb; can software updates be loaded directly into the camcorder; if so How?

No – the software (firmware) in the TRV350 is can not be updated by the user. Software and Drivers that can be downloaded from Sony’s support website for the TRV350 (http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-swu.… are supposed to be installed and run from the computer.
