Hi yahoo people, I have one question. How do you download videos from your camcorder to your computer. Me and my family have a youtube account and we want to download a few videos. I know how to download videos to youtube, but I don’t know how to get them to our computer. If any of you guys know how to, please please please let us know. Thanks

Your camera should have a USB cord that connects your camera to your computer. If you don’t have one you will need to purchase on to upload your videos to YouTube. All camera USB cords aren’t the same so I recommend you to take your camera to a local store and have them help you find one. Only if you don’t have one. If you do connect your camera to one end of the cord and connect the other to the computer. Once connected it should pop up on the screen. Click open files and folder. If I doesn’t pop up go to my computer located on your desktop menu or on your desktop. Once in my computer, you should see your camera name and click on it. You should be ok from here
We don’t know what kind of camcorder that you have.
If it’s a minidv camcorder, you need a firewire connection. Firewire to USB adapters do not work for downloading video. Maybe some day.
If it’s a minidvd camcorder you have to convert the files using a file converting program like http://www.handbrake.fr/ (free download).
If it’s a hard disc, then download using the USB cord.
If it’s a flash drive, you can either use a card reader or USB and copy and paste the photo’s from the card to the file of your choice.
Be aware that some camera softwares do not work with Vista especially Vista 64 bit. Http://www.vista4beginners.com is a good site that deals with Vista problems. Sometimes just plugging the camcorder in without installing the software might work.
